One of our members has brought this to our attention and; as it’s about saving an important Industrial Heritage site, we thought we might appeal to our member and the general public for assistance on their behalf.

Lancashire County Council proposes closing Helmshore Higher Mill and Queen St Mill the last steam powered weaving shed to save money. Neil Cossons argues that Queen St is one of the most important industrial Heritage survivals in the Britain if not the world.

Lancs Council will vote next month on closure.

There is a petition on: www.change.org/p/councillor-jennifer-mein-save-lancashire-s-mill-museums.  They need another 800 signature to reach 10000, and its really quick and easy to sign.

Could you please publicise as widely as possible.
